PEDAGOGY OF PUNJABI B.ED SYLLABUS 

b.ed first year syllabus

 OBJECTIVES AND IMPORTANCE OF STUDYING PEDAGOGY OF PUNJABI:

Pupil-teachers would be able to

1.      Develop awareness  about  basic  concepts  related  to  teaching  of  Punjabi  at  the  secondary level.
2.      Impart training in various skills e.g. language skills, use of techniques of evaluation, teaching skills (micro-teaching skills), etc.
3.      Enable pupil teachers to use the current method of teaching Punjabi.

COURSE CONTENTS (SYLLABUS)

UNIT-I

Nature of Punjabi Language, Aims and Objectives and Principles of Teaching.

·        Nature and importance of language – its origin and development
·        Origin and development of Punjabi language and its script
·        Role of mother tongue in the education of a child
·        Aims & objectives of teaching of Punjabi
·        General Principles and maxims of the teaching of Punjabi

Development of Language skills

·        Listening
·        Speaking
·        Reading
·        Writing 
UNIT-II

Development of  Micro  lessons  based  on  skills  of  questioning,  explaining  illustration  and stimulus variation.

Role of language activities

·        Debates
·        Recitation
·        Story- telling
·        Symposium

Methodology

Modern methods of teaching language with specific references to:

·        Project method
·        Play way method
·        Discussion method
·        Correlation method
·        Observation method 
UNIT-III

·        Methods of the teaching of prose, poetry, composition, and grammar

·        Preparation of lesson plans for each of the above aspects of language.

UNIT-IV 
Instructional Material

·        Audio-visual aids meaning, importance and their kinds of Proper use of these in the teaching of Punjabi
·        Construction of the curriculum of Punjabi language,  critical  appraisal  of  Punjabi  curriculum at secondary school level
·        Qualities of a good Punjabi textbook, criteria governing the construction of Punjabi text books. 

Evaluation:

·        Modern concept of evaluation in Language
·        Different types of techniques and tests for evaluating different language skills.
·        Construction of
·        Oral type tests
·        Short-answer type tests
·        Objective-type tests
·        Essay-type tests
·        Diagnostic test 

Task and assignment:

·        Any task assigned by the institution.
